History- Arianna grew up in a foster home, after her dad gave her up for adoption when she was three. She has been to several different homes, each family claiming that there was something strange about her, and that she was nothing but a trouble maker. She grew up without any real friends. One day, her dad finally felt guilty and came to get her back. They argued, and she ran out the door into the back yard. She was attacked by a monster, and ran. She eventually found a satyr who brought her in to camp when she was nine. She has been living there ever since.
RP Example- I sat in the car, slouched down. The family counselor didn't say a word. After a few more minutes, the car came to a stop.
"Well, here we are. Are you excited to meet your dad?" he asked. I didn't reply. I opened the Car and got out. It was cold. I had been shocked to hear my dad lived just outside Alaska. I mean, honestly. Who is dumb enough to live in that freaking weather. It was something I definitely wasn't used to, having grown up in California most of my life.I trudged across the frozen ground, blowing on my gloved hands. I was all wrapped up, so i felt very insulted when a man appeared in front of me wearing shorts and a T shirt.
"It's not the arctic honey, no need to dress up like an Eskimo," he said with a grin. I stared at my feet. The counselor placed my bag beside me. Just one small lonely bag.
"I'll be back in a few days to see how you two are getting along. If you need anything, or if there are any problems, just call," said the counselor, getting back in his car.
"Don't you worry, I'm we'll get along like a house on fire. She is my daughter after all!" The man laughed, picking up my bag and tucking me under his arm. I wrinkled my nose. He smelt funny. Not to mention his accent sounded like her had a tortoise shoved up one nostril. I sighed and watched the car drive away. Bye, bye previous life. I was ushered into the house, which I didn't complain about seeing as my toes had been about to drop off.
"Would you like something to eat or drink?" the man called from the kitchen. Not the man, I told my self, Your dad. I didn't reply. I sat down on the couch. I didn't look around. I didn't intend on staying long. I knew how things went. It wouldn't be long before he started noticing things. Soon he would send me back, and I would be alone again. He sat beside me with a mug of hot chocolate, even though I hadn't asked for it. He set the drink on the table in front of me.
"Listen, I know I haven't been around, and I'm sorry. I was young and stupid. A few months ago I started to really regret my decision to give you up. So I called the adoption agency, and they said they were currently trying to find you a new foster home. I also heard you've been causing a bit of trouble, but I guess I've only got myself to blame. You see, there's something I need to tell you. It's about your mother," he said slowly. For once, I looked at him and actually listened. I had always wondered about my mother. I knew my father had given me up, but no one ever mentioned me having a mother. It was like she just didn't exist. I had heard some of the staff saying how I had arrived on my father's doorstep while he was completely un-aware of my existence. It had been too much for him to handle, and he had given me up to be raised elsewhere. I didn't know how to feel about it. I didn't do alot of touchy-feely stuff. It was all about getting through life, finding myself a good job, and making a difference. Strategy.
"Okay. Might as well just tell you. She was a goddess. One of the Greek goddesses. Known as Athena. I was a scientific genius when I was young. She came to me one night, after my best experiment yet blew up. I was badly damaged. She transported me to the hospital, and waited while i was fixed up. I loved her. But I knew it wouldn't work. I was too young, too concerned with my work. But she gave me one last gift. You," he said quietly, staring me right in the eyes. I stared at him for a while. Then I stood, anger swelling through me.
"That's the best you Can do? What sort of a rubbish excuse is that! You honestly thought I would buy that! Just because I'm young doesn't mean I'm going to believe in anything you tell me. I haven't heard from you for six years, and then suddenly you just waltz into my life? I don't believe it!" I yelled. Did he think I was stupid?
"No, you don't understand, I'm telling the truth!" He cried, jumping up as well. I glared at him. I grabbed my bag and flung it over my shoulder, marching towards the door.
"Where do you think you're going?" he roared, marching towards me. I spun around.
"AWAY FROM YOU!" I hurled the words at him, as if they could cause him physical pain. As it was, he stopped in his tracks. Tears fought to brim over, but I pushed them back. I wouldn't let him see me cry.
"I'm done," I whispered, turning and running out the door. I slammed it behind me.
"Ari, wait!" he called, but I didn't turn around once. It was time to go. My time had come. I didn't notice the creature behind me. Stupid little girl. Rule number one of survival. ALWAYS watch your back.
