I DON'T KNOW WHO YOU THINK I AM
An Intermediate - Advanced AU POST POTTER RP
It's been twenty years since Harry's graduated from Hogwarts school of Witchcraft & Wizardry along with his best friends, Hermione Weasley and Ron Weasley. Everyone expected that life would go back to normal after the defeat of Lord Voldemort. Everyone also expected that Harry would marry Ron Weasley's sister, Ginny Weasley. No one expected that instead he would go after Lucretia Riddle, the Dark Lord's youngest daughter, and a traitor to the Death Eater cause. However, that's exactly what they did. Ginny was furious. To get Harry back for marrying her enemy she went and married Blaise Zabini, someone who hated Harry and had also commented that he found Ginny attractive. So she figured, why not? Of course, the Weasley's were heart broken that their only daughter went and married a Death Eater, but Ginny didn't care. She cut off ties with the Weasley's and became a Death Eater Supporter as the Death Eaters would never let her join their ranks coming from a blood traitor family and all and being a woman, most of all. Few women were worthy enough of the name of Death Eater and she didn't seem to have intentions of becoming a Gypsy.
Other than the relationship turmoil of the Potter's, Weasley's, and various other families nothing much happened that was too extrodinary. So everyone thought that the wizarding world was finally at peace. Of course there would be family rivals and all those trivial things but there was going to be no terrible Death Eater outbreaks from Azkaban and the current Death Eaters that hadn't been caught were laying low. So things seemed as if they couldn't get any better. Peace was always welcomed and here it was welcomed with open arms. The Wizarding World though they had nothing to worry about. After all, all the Death Eaters that were being captured were going to trail with a one way ticket to Azkaban. So what could there possibly be that they should worry about? The youngest Wizengamot of the era, Mrs. Linda Black, formerly Snape and the wife of Sirius Black's son Weylin stood on her platform like she so regularly did. That day was the trial of Antonin Dolohov who had been caught near Devinshire. She stood tall and strong, her obsidian eyes showing no wavering. She wasn't afraid of Dolohov or any of the of the other Death Eaters, for that matter. She was an Order Member and she felt very strongly that the Death Eaters were only cowards that had followed Orders from an idiot for far too long. She, like many of the other Order families, was close to their leader; Albus Dumbledore. For you see it wasn't Albus that Severus killed but rather Aberforth. Aberforth had wanted to protect his eldest sibling from his own tendency for eccentricity and stupidity. Severus had to kill Albus to prove to the Death Eaters that he had been loyal to Voldemort all along. However, it was known by this time that the Snape's were Order Members and not double agents like Severus had once been. So, many of the Death Eaters held Severus and his children in contempt. It was no surprise to Mrs. Black then when Antonin snarled words of contempt toward her. "That will be quite enough from you, Dolohov," she said curtly. "Counselor please control your client or I will have him removed from my courtroom." She hadn't batted a lash the whole time. She merely fingered the phoenix feather of her necklace. She had a special bond with animals, it seemed, as they all adored her. The feather was from Fawkes.
As she stood there, waiting for everyone to get into position and for the trial to begin there was a loud bang. "What in Merlin's name was that?" demanded Minister of Magic, Cornelius Oswald Fudge who had surprisingly not been sacked given all the errors he had committed in his office. But it was a time of peace now, nothing could go wrong. Suddenly the young wizengamot fainted and there were many gasps around the room. Weylin and Severus had never liked her having that job because it gave criminals the chance to harm her, but she had stubbornly stayed and even Fudge had vouched for her safety. Before Fudge could take two steps toward the girl, Dumbledore had taken the tall girl into his arms. "I'll take her to a place where she'll be safer."
Dolohov meanwhile was laughing like a maniac.
"Just what in Merlin's name is so funny, Dolohov?" spat Susan Belby who was glaring at the convict with so much fire in her eyes it was amazing that he hadn't gotten burnt yet. She had taken her aunts place in court for she felt she owed society something in return. She was a close friend of Weylin's, so it didn't set well with her that he had done something to his wife. "What did you do to her, Dolohov?"
"She'll be needing about nine potions this month to get rid of it. Does that give you a clue?!" Dolohov smirked.
"ENOUGH!" bellowed Fudge angrily. "Let's just get this trial over with. Potter, you can take your friend's place as Wizengamot. You were trained for it, no?"
"Why yes, Minister, but she's my best friend, you can't expect --," Lucretia began only to be waved off dismissively by Fudge. Nodding, she stood where Linda had stood moments previously. "Officers do make sure you've apprehended his wand this time." They did so and the trial began. After the trail was over, Lucretia watched as Dolohov's wand was snapped in half and watched as they carted him off to Azkaban. She turned to Susan. "Thank Merlin."
"Indeed, do you think Linda will be all right?" Susan asked.
"I'm sure she'll be fine, she's stronger than that nitwit," Lucretia remarked, glaring after Dolohov.
Sure enough, Linda turned out to be fine. But just as the Death Eater predicted she needed at least nine potions. She had told the Healers to keep it a secret from her husband, but she also needed another potion because she was two weeks pregnant. The spell could have lasting effects on the children if she didn't take the extra potion, even though, it made her want to vomit because it was one of the fouler potions they were giving her. But life went on. She and Weylin had children, Lucretia and Harry had children, Ron and Hermione had children. The incident with Dolohov was soon forgotten until SIX MONTHS ago. You see, six months ago, there was a mass break out from Azkaban. They were released by none other than the Dark Lord's son himself, Mercutio. He claimed to be the right hand of the Dark Lord and everyone was confused. Voldemort was dead. Mercutio had killed his sister Merope to use the horcrux within her to revive his father. Talk about twisted family relations. Voldemort appeared out of the fog and the Order knew that there was going to be hell to pay for the last several years of peace. However, they were unafraid of the Death Eaters. So far, the Death Eaters have not destroyed the Ministry and Dumbledore and his staff have made sure that they aren't anywhere near close to entering the grounds of Hogwarts.
The children know that there's a third war going on, however, they seem completely oblivious to the effects that it could have on their young lives. They still fight and flirt and fall in love. They still argue, jest, and hex. It's like nothing's changed. Though, the grave demeanor of the adults gives them a grasp that the third war might be a long and drawn out war until the adults can sort it out and get Voldemort and his heir Mercutio gone. . .forever. The children have oft spoken on the issue, though, when the mood of the adults is too somber to ignore and someone else's family members have either disappeared, been killed, or been attacked by Greyback or one of his children. When the children can sense all too strongly that there is tension in the air and they can't ignore it with the usual casual banter and every day life, they start to discuss what they think should happen and what they all think the adults are so blind to see. . .
"Well, they can't keep this up forever, so they'd best get this over with soon," James remarked.
"Yeah, the sooner the better. Nothing lasts forever," Albus sighed.
"Rocks do. They just keep multiplying, moving, and deteriorating," Rose replied in an off-hand manner.
"Yeah, we'll be Just Like Rocks, Rose, and live forever," James retorted sarcastically.
