Chiron walked into the Arts & Crafts building and began preparing for his class. His tail swatting at invisible flies as he walked. {Okay, I think I've got all of the supplies I need for this class.} He thought to himself.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the Painting Class He greeted his students. Today, we will be painting war symbols on these wooden shields. He pointed across the room at some used wooden shields. Some of them had cracks in them and some had pieces missing off of them. Any great warrior has their own war symbol. With this excercise, you will be given the opportunity to paint your own symbol. Now go over and get a shield. The paint is already waiting for you at your desk. He paused to let the students get their shields.

Alex went and got a shield. She had to think of a symbol.Wait I know! She thought. She first out lined a eagle with a pencil. Then she got the paint the she painted and detailed the eagle. She needed to add something more but, what? She wondered what she should put.

Ugh okay... It's almost over... Katherine thought, getting up from her seat so that she could grab a shield. She wasn't really into arts and crafts. Unfortunately, this was the only class available at the time. The girl quickly grabbed one of the better looking shields. Taking it back to her seat, she started to think up a design for it.
Well, I guess I could do... a sword...? Wait, that's too unoriginal. She figured that if she was going to do this, she might as well do a good job. Bored, Katherine started to doodle on it. When she finally realized what she was doing, she glanced down to find that she had stenciled a forest onto the shield.
Ooh, I know what I can do... She picked her pencil up again and made it look like the trees were on fire. There, that looks better. Katherine quickly set the pencil down and picked up the paintbrush instead.

A class? Jason entered the arts and crafts studio slightly confused. Back in the city, they'd have similar activities... in second grade. He thought to himself with a chuckle. He grabbed a decent shield and some paint and sat down, pondering upon what to draw. It had to be symbolic... yet simple... conceptual... yet tasteful... Such decisions to be made... So little time... So many options... Brainstorming would be the first step he supposed. In his mind, Jason came up with a list of possibilities. There was... a battle-axe and a sword forming a deranged X, or he could do something with his parentage. A conch shell? No... it had to have something to do with war... a trident?
Without starting, Jason awaited further instruction from Chiron.

Tom went and got a shield. Luckily there was cracks. He knew what to do. He started sketching. It ended up a a sun with two swords crossed over it. He needed to start painting it. He looked for a brush. His fell on the floor. He picked it up then started carefully painting his design. He need to paint the swords hit the color of leather and the sun a bright orange. He continued to work.

Ramsey was recommended by a random camper to stop by the Arts and Crafts building at around this time. He decided that it couldn't hurt, so he walked to the building to see what was going on. Ah, a class.. he thought to himself. Well, seeing as I'm not doing anything.. He walked into the classroom and saw Chiron and a few other students already there. He listened to Chiron's instructions, then went and took a decent sized shield with two cracks in the center, almost in the shape of an X.
After he chose his sword, he chose a desk that wasn't near anyone. He took a long, hard look at the colors that were offered and discarded (or set on another table) the red, brown, and any other color that wasn't purple, pink, blue, yellow, black, and green. My own war symbol, huh? He took a thin paintbrush and began to draw, without even practicing first in pencil. Dipping the tip in black paint, he outlined a sword, a sun, and many vines. He drew from his heart, taking homage from his father and the kind demigod woman who kept him safe.

Tenma walked over and, luckily, got one of the undamaged shields from the pile. He thought to himself What could be my war symbol? He then was struck with an idea. He sketched a shade (a ghost in the underworld) on fire with two swords crossed in an X on the shield, in homage to his father the god of the underworld Hades. He then starting painting it in.

Chiron paced around the room as he lectured. Nice work, class. It seems there are a lot of creative minds here. He smiled proudly to himself. Great warriors paint bright colors onto their shields to strike fear in their enemies eyes by letting them know they are coming for them. Feel free to talk amoungst yourselves and come up with great ideas.

Ramsey was nearly finished with the outline. It was of a loyal, powerful sword, baring some resemblance to Patronus. Since his left hand (his writing hand) was wrapped in bandages, he had to draw with his right hand, which was a little shakier with the paintbrush. The sword was entangled in long, powerful vines, possibly grape vines, that sprouted from a nothingness. At the very tip of the sword was a star, and a very bright one at that. The star signified a hope that emerged from the exaggerated purple nothingness, much like the demigod woman helped him at the orphanage. When Chiron started speaking, Ramsey's head just sort of buzzed out his words. When Ramsey figured he was done talking, he looked over his shield. He felt it was missing something.

Katherine continued to paint her war symbol onto her wooden shield. It looked like it was coming out alright to her, definitely not the best, but not the worst either. The girl added the finishing touches, then set her wet paintbrush down on the table. She was done as there wasn't much more for her to do. She sat there quietly and waited for more instructions.

OOC: I am going to do Tom and Alex at the same time!
As Alex!
Alex had painted a lightning bolt behind the eagle. The lightning bolt along with the eagle was very detailed. She needed to finish this. So far it didn't look that bad. She needed to finish. She started to draw again she drew a symbol cross dividing the sections of the shield. She herd what chiron said. She needed bright colors. But, she decided to paint two of the sections sky gray then she painted the other side orange careful not to do the same as her yellow bolts. That was OK. She guessed she was done. She waited for further instructions.
As Tom!
He finished the center design. He needed to take care of the rest. He made a diagonal cross pattern. On one side he put a capital t then on the other side a capital s. His initials. Then he filled that in with blue. Then he put around it yellow then around the s too. On the other suctions he made it red. Too show the hot intensity of fire to win. He thought that was bright enough. He waited for what was next. He thought he was done.

Chiron smiled to the class. Well done. The next step is to use these shields. Follow me to the Training Arenas. I have a surprise for you. He laughed as he waved the students to follow him out of this classroom.
